local arts links |
This page has links to local arts sites of all kind (pop arts/performance arts/fine
arts) focusing on California's Contra Costa County area. If you're such an artist
or organization, and your site isn't listed here, please let me know. Let's
show them there's creativity East of Berkely, or North of Berkely if you're
in Richmond. |
Moving Arts Dance.org A dance organization not two minutes from me by foot (one
and half if you're dancing). It took the world wide web for me to find them.
They specialize in modern dance performance and education, and they have a mighty
nice web site as well. |
Natural Abstraction is this web site. It's an abstract photography, and near
abstract photography gallery showing the work of Barry Massoni. If you've come
here directly from a search engine, this link will take you to the home page,
or choose a gallery below. |
Concord Art Association This is an association of Concord (and possibly area) artists.
They seem to concentrate mostly on painting, but I've seen other formats
represented at their shows. They have regular meetings, shows, and a newsletter.
A few of their members have works displayed at their site. |
Martinez Arts Association This group also seems to concentrate on painter, possibly exclusively. They have
a small online gallery, and information about their organization. |
Pittsburg Arts Collaborative To quote from their web site, "The mission of PACO is to
encourage support of all forms of the arts in Pittsburg." The site itself seems
light on content at this writing, featuring only painters, and some of their
work isn't credited. |
Willows Theatre Company Their name says it all. They are a local theater troup that puts on several plays
yearly. |
Arts and Culture Commision of Contra Costa County I got their newsletter for a couple of years until they
stopped publishing it, and still had no idea what they did. Their web site
does have the county's cultural plan, though, which is almost two megs of text
for anyone brave enough to download it. |
Diablo Regional Arts Association Their web site says they promote, fund, and provide leadership
in performing and visual arts. However, they don't fund individual artists,
which, if you'll excuse my plain interpretation, seems to mean they fund overhead,
not art. I guess they can do whatever they want with their money. It's
too bad they can't do both, though- with an emphasis on art and artists.
